Students are in the classroom for 7.5 weeks and alternate in a Northtown service department for 7.5 weeks, over the course of the 2-year program. The purpose of the program is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and experience to be a successful automotive service technician, and to afford them practical opportunities to sharpen their skills and abilities, while providing paid mentoring in a dealership environment. Â
This unique process provides mentoring, paid on-the-job training, tool allowances, tuition reimbursement opportunities and manufacturer certification in addition to the SUNY Erie AOS curriculum. Northtown is excited to have partnered with SUNY Erie and their staff.Â

When accepted to the program, students have a map to progress from acceptance to training to full-time employment under the shared umbrella of SUNY Erie and Northtown. Â
