SUNY Erie | Automotive Service Technician Program (A.O.S.)
A.O.S. SUNY Erie Program
This collaborative program provides an effective career path for automotive technicians to obtain a degree in Applied Automotive Technologies. Classroom studies are coupled with hands-on, real-life experience in the dealership which provides employment and mentoring for the student during and following their education.
Students are in the classroom for 7.5 weeks and alternate in a Northtown service department for 7.5 weeks, over the course of the 2-year program. The purpose of the program is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and experience to be a successful automotive service technician, and to afford them practical opportunities to sharpen their skills and abilities, while providing paid mentoring in a dealership environment. Â
This unique process provides mentoring, paid on-the-job training, tool allowances, tuition reimbursement opportunities and manufacturer certification in addition to the SUNY Erie curriculum. Northtown is excited to have partnered with SUNY Erie and their staff.
